I recently enjoyed a lovely stay at The Selkirk Arms. The friendly staff enhanced our experience, while the food, especially the scallops, delighted my taste buds. The only drawback was the small room size, but the inviting atmosphere more than made up for it.

Cleanliness throughout the establishment stands out, along with thoughtful touches like Galloway cow-shaped chocolates in the room. The spacious beer garden offers a nice atmosphere for drinks, although it wasn’t the right weather for it this time.
Room size felt a bit cramped, and the reading lights by the bed were non-functional. Some additional teabags would have been appreciated, and those pillows could use a firmer fill to really be comfortable. The uneven floor in the room might throw off some during the night, and windows had to stay closed due to noise from the kitchen's extractors.

we had a great time at the selkirk arms hotel! it was super cozy and very clean. the staff were friendly and always ready to help us. breakfast was yummy with lots of options, n the courtyard was nice to relax in. also, the location was perfect for exploring the town, we were really close to the art festival!
the rooms were a bit small n there was no elevator so carrying our luggage up the stairs was a hassle.

Ideal spot for couples seeking charm
The staff were genuinely friendly, always there, helping with our bags like they were made of feathers unlike the suitcase I was dragging around! ! the breakfast was unmatched, fresh fruits, local ingredients and the haggis – it was like a revelation for my taste buds!
It wasn't exactly cheap, but honestly, it still made sense for what we got.
